GraceCorp — Dakar, Senegal
Freight forwarding and logistics in West Africa
We move goods into and out of West and Central Africa — and we handle what happens between the port and the final site, which is where most shipments actually fail.
Most companies that ship to this region do not lose money on the ocean leg. They lose it on the seventy kilometres after the port, on a customs file that was incomplete, or on a haulier nobody checked. We are on that side of the chain.
GraceCorp is a Senegalese company, registered in Dakar, working with shippers, foreign freight forwarders looking for a local correspondent, mining and industrial operators, and traders buying African commodities.
Sourcing: we find it, we buy it, we deliver it
Road transport and haulage
Flatbeds, tarpaulin trailers, tankers, reefers and low-loaders across Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Gambia, Togo and Benin. Every carrier in our network has had its licence, registration, roadworthiness certificate and cargo insurance checked before it moves a load.
Customs clearance and transit
Import, export and inter-state transit under the ECOWAS TRIE regime. We handle the declaration, the duty assessment and the release, and we tell you what a file needs before it is lodged rather than after it is blocked.
Port operations
Container release at the Port of Dakar, heavy-lift discharge, bonded storage and onward haulage. Demurrage runs from day one, so the file is prepared before the vessel berths.
Project cargo
Out-of-gauge and heavy equipment to mining and industrial sites: route survey, abnormal-load permits, low-loaders, escort and site discharge.
Sourcing and DDP supply
We buy the goods on your behalf, arrange pre-shipment quality inspection and deliver to your door under one contract and one price.
Escort and real-time tracking
Convoy escort where value or route justifies it, and position reporting you can follow from any time zone.
Guides for companies operating in West Africa
- Too much freight, not enough trucks: a field report from our first weeks in West African truckingSince GraceRoad opened, demand has never been the problem. Trucks are: our partner carriers are fully booked. A first-hand account of the vicious circle behind West Africa's truck shortage, what keeps it turning, and what it would take to break it.
- Money moves in a second, the truck waits for hours: banks, checkpoints and customsSince September 2025, a payment crosses the WAEMU in real time. A truck loan is still assembled on paper, and a fully compliant truck loses hours at checkpoints between Dakar and Bamako. Figures from the BCEAO and the Observatory of Abnormal Practices, and what digital tools can already change.
- New trucks from China, end-of-lease trucks from Europe: how European manufacturers are losing AfricaChina shipped 118,000 heavy trucks to Africa in ten months, new, under warranty, often on credit. Europe mostly sends its used ones. African risk is the usual excuse, yet the data says it can be insured, and many of the tools to insure it are European.
Talk to us
Tell us the commodity or equipment, the volume, the origin and the final destination. We come back with feasibility, the documents the file will need, and a quotation. We do not quote a price before we have studied the file, and we are wary of anyone who does.
