Ask an AI assistant to find a truck for 30 tonnes of cement between Dakar and Bamako. Most of the time, it answers with generalities: contact a forwarder, compare several quotes, check the documents. It does not know the region's hauliers, because they are almost absent from what it has read.
Since September 2026, with GraceRoad, a compatible assistant can do better. It can present who we are, say which corridors we serve, and prepare your request: it opens fully written on our website, and you decide whether to send it. Here is how it works, and why it matters for African transport.

What the assistant can do with GraceRoad
GraceRoad publishes an MCP server, for Model Context Protocol: an open standard introduced by Anthropic in November 2024 that lets an AI assistant use outside tools. Ours offers three.

What the assistant will never do
We built the connector so that an AI cannot do anything on your behalf without you.
- It gives no freight price. Every quotation is prepared by our team after studying the file. A price invented by a machine would be wrong, and we would rather say nothing than mislead.
- It writes nothing and pays nothing. The three tools are read only: they open no file and trigger no payment. The prepared link places the text in our assistant's field, without sending it: you read it and decide.
- It warns that a freight request is paid. Filing a freight request with GraceRoad costs a study fee of 11,800 CFA francs including tax, requested at the end of the form and not refundable once the quotation is issued; or 22,302 CFA francs a month for unlimited requests. This fee is not the price of transport. The assistant says so before you start, so nobody discovers it at the end.
How to add it to your assistant
- In Claude: Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, then paste the server address.
- In ChatGPT or another MCP compatible assistant: add a remote MCP server with the same address.
The address is https://graceroad-group.com/api/mcp. No account, no authentication: the connector only gives access to public information. The options available depend on your assistant's version and subscription. The server is listed in the official MCP server registry as com.graceroad-group/graceroad, active since 25 September 2026.
Why it matters for African transport
Buyers already ask AIs their questions. A procurement manager in Toronto, a forwarder in Antwerp or a mine under construction in Senegal often start their research with an AI assistant. If the AI knows no haulier in the region, it recommends nobody, or gets it wrong.
AIs mix up names. We have seen it: a search on our name brought up an unrelated organisation in Fiji. Our connector and our llms.txt file, a page written for AIs, say explicitly who we are, and who we are not.
Accurate information beats a good reputation. The assistant that queries our connector does not guess: it reads what we publish ourselves, our corridors, our services, our terms, kept up to date.
We have also published an agent card in the A2A format, the agent to agent protocol introduced by Google in 2025, so that agents using it can find us the same way.
Your data
The server asks for no personal data and does not keep the content of conversations. For each call, only the tool name and the assistant's name, for example Claude, appear in our host's technical logs, kept for a few days at most. What you enter afterwards on our website falls under our privacy policy.
